Our proposal for a solar farm at Creathorne Farm near Poundstock in North Cornwall was granted planning consent by Cornwall Council in September 2013.
Construction is due to begin on site during early summer 2014. Once complete, the 1.8 MW solar farm will generate enough renewable electricity to power around 430 average homes.
Creathorne Farm is already home to a flock of rare breed sheep, a few cows and free range chickens. The solar farm will enable a further diversification of existing land use and farming practice.
As part of our commitment to invest in the local community, Good Energy will also be providing a small solar PV system for Marhamchurch Primary School.
In February 2014 we submitted a planning application to extend Creathorne Solar Farm into an adjacent field, adding a further 0.8MW of installed capacity.
