Hampole Wind Farm
Located at Hampole near Doncaster, this four-turbine wind farm has a total generation capacity of 8.2MW, sufficient to power around 4,900 average homes.
Hampole Wind Warm started to generate renewable electricity in spring 2014. It’s expected to generate around 20,000MWh a year, taking us a big step closer towards our goal of generating 50% of the electricity our customers use.
The wind farm construction work was completed both on time and to budget, and because we sourced the turbine towers from leading British manufacturers Mabey Bridge in Chepstow, we were able to keep our carbon footprint to a minimum and boost the UK's economy as well.
We’re offering benefits to locals including a community fund worth £8,200 a year (rising with inflation) for the lifetime of the wind farm to support local charitable causes.
