Brush the cake with one-third of the melted apricot preserves. Cut the cake in half crosswise. The Sachertorte is his favorite cake. Pour all of the warm chocolate glaze on top of the cake. Pour into a bowl and leave to cool down until just warm to the taste if the glaze is too hot it will become dull in appearance, but if too cold it will become too viscous. The description of the recipe steps is not very detailed and doesn't help much. For the glaze I looked for a jam that did not have high fructose corn syrup in and the only thing available was raspberry jelly. With the apricot filling and chocolate that is what makes it Sacher Torte. I reduced the baking time accordingly about 30-minutes.
